A background in the mass-produced and machine-made home goods industry left owner Jonathan Hankar of BE HOME with a void. Ten years later, Hankar decided to start his own company with a mission to promote conscientiousness for environmentally friendly products and the non-commercialization of handicrafts made by Southeast Asian artisans. BE HOME specializes in high quality, handmade home gifts made of natural materials like bamboo, horn, and mango wood. Additionally, a partnership with the Society for Battered Women has helped victims of domestic abuse gain employment and live independently.
